Background

SPO Foundation is a UK-registered breast cancer charity. The foundation offers practical support, survivor-led inspiration, and educational outreach — especially for underserved communities — through a digital platform that reflects dignity, care, and community.

Core Problem

While breast cancer charities exist, many overlook the personal, culturally nuanced needs of patients and families — especially those from Black and minority ethnic backgrounds. SPO Foundation needed a welcoming, trustworthy digital platform to communicate support services, tell real survivor stories, and drive donations with clarity and compassion.

What I Did

UX & UI design, web design (Wix Studio), visual identity with logo creation & art direction, content architecture & tone of voice, CMS setup for dynamic stories and charity listings, illustration direction & custom AI generated images, and responsive layout with accessibility best practices.

Key Actions Taken

• Worked closely with the founders to define structure, tone, and user priorities — from emotional storytelling to donation flow
• Designed an 8-page architecture with clear UX — including 'What We Do,' 'Get Help,' and 'Survivor Stories'
• Used soft, hopeful color palettes, rounded cards, and inclusive visuals to communicate warmth and dignity
• Implemented CMS systems for stories and partner charities, enabling future growth and easy updates
• Generated Adobe Firefly prompts for key visuals (e.g. family support, early detection, research) tailored to SPO's brand colors and values
• Focused on donation pathways, social proof, and mission clarity to support engagement and credibility
